GuitarToyBox is one of my major ongoing projects. What started off as a small blog about my love of guitar has turned into a monster. It was relaunched New Years Day 2009 and in after it’s first month in the new format it had over doubled it’s traffic. I’m planning on this growth to continue.

GuitarToyBox is a website dedicated to all things guitars, including news, product reviews, music reviews and general commentary columns. It also features an integrated advertising management system, and a fully functional eBay store.

Sydney Christmas Trees

This website was a huge success. So much so that it had to be pulled offline before Christmas due to the overwhelming demand for Christmas Trees. The new website I developed for Sydney Christmas Trees in 2008 increased online orders by almost 100%. We’ll be tweaking the design some more for Christmas 2009 as the site was rushed through in only a few weeks to be ready for the 2008 season.

SWA Wrestling

The original site for SWA was destroyed when their disgruntled former “web master” waqs told his services were no longer required. He got a bit petty and deleted the whole thing before I got a chance to back it up for them. Anyway, the new site has a lot of very cool features that will not only engage their audience, but also help promote and sell their product directly through the site.

NUSA

NUSA is the Newcastle University Student Union. The NUSA website is packed full of features that they are still in the process of implementing.

It is a site designed to help the student body of the University of Newcastle to connect with each other and share and organise their joint goals. It features a discussion forum, image gallery, events calander and a very nifty user group system where users can create their own groups (such as the Tea Drinkers Group) and organise their own events.

Rewards On Offer is a user driven directory service that acts as a gateway for people to connect with each other about such things as lost items, stolen goods information, runaway pets etc. It features a massive user management system, user submissions for the directory, integrated images and Google Maps integration.

The original protype version was aimed at the Australia market. The site has been relaunched for the international market.

A1 Temptations

A1 Temptations was a tricky one. I can’t say it’s an industry I have had any exposure to. When I asked them what they wanted they told me “sexy, with a way for customers know when their favourite staff member was on”. So that is what I did.

Running off a CMS, the A1 website features a modified events calendar that is used to display the current roster. There is also a custom testimonial system that displays moderated testimonials on the front page of the website.

While the header graphic was designed for use on their website, it is now used on all their stationary. I guess that means I should have a PRINT portfolio as well .

Hunter Maintenance Painting needed to dramatically update their website. The original website had been created in Publisher, and was not of the same professional standard that their business provides. They needed a website that showcased the quality of their work, as well as being easily updated to add to the list the continuing array of business awards.
